Essentials
Our Essentials course is a specialised short course, ideal for dogs aged six months onwards who have had some prior training with us in either our Puppy School or Super Puppy classes.
It provides an opportunity for clients to receive some tailored help with a range of important exercises most owners have concerns with. The courses will rotate each time but the first course Essentials 1 will work on Focus/Engagement, Lead walking and Impulse Control to food and people. The next course Essentials 2 will work on the Leave cue, Recalls and Place/Bed training. The courses are games based so they will be fun and energetic.
The cost of the course is $135 (for the three week course, 30 minute classes) and we require full payment prior to your first class to secure your place in this course together with Profile Form and latest Vaccination Certificate.
The Essentials course runs for three consecutive weeks (unless otherwise advised due to public holidays or trainer leave) and as we have a structured curriculum with one topic covered each week, we don’t offer make up classes if you miss a week. Our courses have a minimum number of bookings to begin the course and a maximum number in each course which doesn’t allow for clients to attend other classes. If you’re interested in this course, please let us know as we haven’t scheduled dates yet and are taking a waiting list.

Please note:
We do not offer refunds once the course has commenced, under any circumstances. You must attend Week One of all of our courses to be able to attend the remainder of the course. If you have paid and do not turn up for week one of the course and have not cancelled your place at least 72 hours in advance of the course commencing, you will not be entitled to a refund as we can no longer fill your place.
It is important that the handler who will be coming to all group classes is also attending week one of this course and takes an active part in this session. We can not allow a handler to attend any class after week one (on their own) if they have not attended and participated in this foundation session. If the person training your dog in this course cannot attend this first session, then you will not be able to participate in this course, please call us to join the next course.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the social distancing guidelines as set by the government, we have a limit of two people per dog for all of our classes until further notice and masks are required when moving around the training centre as we cannot guarantee social distancing.
Lastly, please note, our dog training courses are not suitable for dogs who are reactive on lead. If your dog lunges, barks, excessively whines or growls at other dogs and/or people on lead, please contact us to arrange a Behaviour Consult. The group class setting also does not cover any behaviour issues you’re having with your dog including general and separation anxiety related behaviours, a private consult will help with this.
