Christie’s background is in animal welfare and animal management, and animal training with her work always centred around understanding behaviour, supporting wellbeing, and advocating for thoughtful, ethical care.

Hairy Hounds Playground evolved in 2011 when Christie brought together Onsite Pet Care and dog training services under the HHPG name, creating a space focused on enrichment, structure, and individualised care. Since then, the business has grown to include daycare, grooming, group walks and specialised experiences, all guided by the same core values.

Christie is particularly passionate about dog behaviour, and enrichment based care. She believes dogs thrive when their needs are understood and respected, rather than managed through rigid systems or one size fits all approaches.

Alongside her work at Hairy Hounds Playground, Christie is also the co founder of Mate’s Gift, a grassroots animal welfare initiative supporting sterilisation, parasite control and community education programs across Indonesia, Bali and Thailand. This ongoing work strongly influences the way care is delivered at HHPG, with a focus on kindness, education and responsibility.

Christie remains hands on within the business and is closely involved in shaping both the daily operations and the long term direction of Hairy Hounds Playground.
